Kinda odd, but somehow this Wiki seems easier to deal with than the Yahoo! group for sharing information. Does anyone else think so too?

I agree!

== We'd like to know who you are ==

I see that we have at least one anonymous person making comments. We'd really prefer that everyone identify themselves, just on general principles.

I agree that this is far easier for information sharing than the Yahoo group. That's what's got me jazzed - a Wiki is really about collaboration.

== Metrics ==

Hello all,

I began moving my software company to the Agile development method about a year ago. The change was necessary and for the better. I made a brief presentation on the subject at TESTCo's most recent quarterly meeting. Here's a link to the powerpoint and audio download:
http://www.testco.com/main/CaseStudies.html
I'm no expert, however, and we're still learning quite a bit about this process. One question I'd like to share is in regard to performance measurement. What kind of metrics are people using to gain insight into the performance of their team, or to motivate them to improve?

Regards,

Michael Hayes

For us the big metric is showing up, a good friend of mine described his team this way "we have twelve people but a lot of them are in the witsness protection program, because we never see them." Some of my clients have similar problems, attendance and tardiness (for lack of better labels) are big issues. Now understand that in my business the excuse "I was up all night playing games" is actually a valid issue, one I like to encourage as long as it is really R&D for us. 8-)

Dear Folks,
Karen Sopko here, this is a busy time of year for game companies, so let me be breif.
Loads of interest in the part of our charter directed at uses of games in other areas:

''"integrate games into other ventures (consulting, entertainment, education)."''

This is where our company [http://www.Cbandgames.com] has put it's stake in the ground.
For more on what we have had success with see the blog [http://www.sopkos.com]

If what I am able to get into the computer is interesting to the group I will bring more of the blog here.

About my mission and underlying goals:
1) To make enough money to keep the house and be around while my son grows up.
2) To revive the idea of game play as a vehicle for human to human contact.
3) To make the work life of others better, so they can keep their houses and watch their kids grow up.

If these goals are out of line with traditional games companies, we are here to try something different.

About video games, software, MMOG and all the electronic versions of game play:
1) I play video games but CBand does not produce video games for retail sale
2) So we will need an expert on the development or marketing of retail games
3) Any good information that helps out any kind of gaming is OK by me

What Can We Do With This Wiki? SWOT:
1) Opportunity - Watch for trends that move across demographics and markets
2) Threats - Respond to threats and critisms of the industry in general
3) Weaknesses - Engage experts from our collective rolodexes to address weaknesses
4) Strengths - Build on our creative and market facing strenghts so we all benefit

In short the world out there needs what we have, fun, play, and engagement.
The challenge is to get it to them.
